Allow table viewer filter to sort desc and not just ascending

Allow for sorting ascending/descending while using the table viewer (order-by in filter window). Right now it defaults to ascending only, and you have to click on "custom sql" and put in the desc yourself. Toad for Oracle has this feature.

Hi mkaminski, can you please give me more details what exactly you want to sort? Can you attach the picture illustrating your idea? Many thanks!

  2. In toad for SQL, in the filter dailog box, in the order-by tab, you can choose a column, but it only does ASCENDING by default, unless you go into the SQL tab and make it custom SQL, and put in the DESC manually. However, in Toad for Oracle, you can choose the sort order as you select your column. This is a big timesaver. See the attachment of a screen shot from Toad for Oracle.

Here is the note from beta release notes:

You can now customize data filtering in the DOV (Database Object Viewer) to organize columns in ascending or descending order. Select the Filter icon in the Data tab of the DOV and navigate to the Order By page in the Filer Data pane. By default Ascending mode is on, to sort columns in descending order clear the checkbox next to selected columns.

I believe it is what you are talking about.
